A Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an organization composed of parents, teachers, students and staff that is intended to facilitate family involvement in our school. Our PTO supports the connection between effective engagement and academic achievement for all children. We strive to be a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.
The Knowledge Academy PTO works toward making every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to provide a voice for our community and children to advocate for a higher level of engagement and communication within our school district.
The PTO has several objectives:
foster a strong and supportive community to assure every child has the greatest opportunities available in physical, academic, and social education.
enrich the educational life of the TKA community by organizing special events and programs
coordinating volunteer participation to support school programs
sponsoring activities that increase school spirit
supporting the school administration, board of trustees and teachers in their goals
to support the appropriate legislation to insure adequate laws for the care and the protection of children.
The PTO gathers every month and all TKA parents are invited to join. The meetings include discussion of issues that parents bring forward, event planning, project development ideas for the future, and periodic updates from the head of school. All parents, especially those new to the TKA community, are encouraged to get involved in the life of the school through the PTO.
Please join us for our PTO meetings, we want to hear your ideas.
